Atheism and me

Whenever you meet any theist , you should ask him why you are so religious and what’s the logic behind this? He will answer we are theists because the theologians have told us that there is religion and there is a God. Have you seen any God till the time! he/she will answer no .

I consider the Vedas, Upnishads,Bible, Quran and any religious books just as story books which teach us good things which we don’t even follow.

We all love story telling because it gives us excitement, pleasure, jovial etc etc.

Same in that case when the people of that era who lived that period of time thought that they should give the upcoming generations a motive to live with. So, they created a subject like God and created rule books named as holybooks.

The eternal truth and the principles of life were antedate to religions.
From the book “The power of Subconcious mind” by Joseph Murphy.

Today also, when we see someone who has out of box thinking, we consider him/her as intellectual. Same in the case when the oldest religion was formed , the theologians were the intellectuals of that time and people followed them without questioning.

The theory of other religions came with this prospect only, people with brain formed new religion with the alternatives of the former religion. In this way religions were practised everywhere blindly.

Theists and Science

Every theists will say you that God created this whole universe and its creatures.

Let us talk about the universe first. The world renowned scientist Stephen Hawking in his book “The Grand Design” had written the big bang theory has created this whole universe, not the creators. We all are seeing only one planet which is Earth but the Universe is so vast that we couldn’t have opinion about their fates too.

According to him, the story started with the quantum mechanics. Due to law of gravity, the Universe can and will itself create from nothing.

The theory of Darwin stated that humans were evolved from the apes. So apes and other creatures were first to come into this planet before the humans.

The planet Earth at first was covered with the ice. Life on the Earth was dominated by simple bacteria up until about 650 million years ago when more complex form of life suddenly took over.

Scientists in Australia and Germany claimed the pivotal moment that set life on Earth. The process went from insects to dinosaurs and then humans.

The revolution of Ecosystem started and then the giant glaciers were turned to powder, which gave life giving nutrients such as phosphates. The newly temperate climate and sudden influx of food created the perfect conditions for the comolex life- algae that are the ancestors of us all.

Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the Universe exists.(Stephen Hawking)

For Hawking, the meaning of life was “be curious and however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at.”

(A proud atheist who believe in himself not in the Gods or the Demi Gods. )

So called Babas making devotees blind..

I remember an incident when one of my close friend Rawish’s dad was very ill. My mother-father who had faith in a Baba, convinced him to go to Banaras and attend his discourse. We both went to Banaras and attended the discourse in the early morning. After discourse, there was an announcement that those who want special blessing must submit 3500 rupees and those who want worship material have to submit 1500 rupees extra. We both submitted the money and waited for the special blessing he would give us. The Saint came and propped over our head and went away. 10,000 rupees were spent in 10 min for his propped up. After coming back to home, a few days later, my friend’s dad died. That was the day when I distracted myself from the fake cult leaders.

Virendra Dev Dixit is the new face after Baba Ram Rahim which is in the news last few days. He has been accused of keeping girls in the ashram and assaulting them.

But the question is how these Godmen and Godwomen like Asaram Bapu, Nirmal Baba, Radhe Maa, Rampal, Ram Rahim and this Virendra Dixit mislead people, exploit their children and accumulate wealth from them, especially from the educated mass?

In our country where religion and Saints held a pinnacle position and people knowing the truth very well, are still being superstitious. But it’s good nowadays that the curtain is rising from the fake jugglery. I praise Indian Media in this kind of cases, i.e. doing their job perfectly, spreading awareness in the society. Hermitage who had been once considered as the centre of knowledge earlier, came out to be a place of sexual exploitation recently.

Our generation has a scarcity of time and in this process, we think that this Godmen and Godwomen can let us connect with God and can teach us and our children the meaning of life. But for connecting God we don’t need these fake people. We just need to learn the teachings and principles of our deities.

Swami Vivekananda who was a religious person but never been superstitious said we have to understand first what religion is? According to him, religion is a demonstration of holiness inside us. Religion raises savage to man and man to God. Every good thing happening around us, examples of humanity are some of the teachings of religion and to learn these things we don’t need Saints. We can find it ourselves in our thinking.

These fake-saints use the card of religion for playing with our religious beliefs and they easily assemble wealth through it. Many Saints have been accused and convicted of heinous crimes like theft, land grabbing, murder and rapes. Eg: Baba Ram Rahim, Asaram Bapu, Nirmal Baba.

These so-called Saints make the society favourable according to them by using the sentiments of people and spreading hypocrisy and superstition in the society. The politicians also, either help them or take help from them for their vote bank policy.

The Akhil Bhartiya Akhada Parishad have come out after Baba Ram Rahim case with the lists of fake Saints and demanded the legislature to take strict actions upon them.

Disclaimer: Even after so many cases of these kind, the eyes of government and people had‘t opened yet and if we won’t wake up we will get to hear more of these .

Colors behind India’s unity

Once I got into a conversation with one of my friends on diversity in our country and he said diversity is the biggest threat which our country is facing.

Let us start it with my childhood memories. I studied in a school of D.A.V where,on saturday we used to do Yagya and there were many classmates of different communities who used to sit with us and they participated with us in that ritual. I and my classmates used to celebrate different festivals together like eid, diwali, christmas ,guruparv etc. I am pretty sure that you also must have enjoyed these festivals together in your childhood. So what’s the problem now and who is teaching us the language of hatred at this age!!

At the time of independence in 1947, many western countries thought that a country with 9 major religions, 1652 languages, 3000 castes, 25000 subcastes, different food,  creed, wears and thinking  would not stand for more than 10-15 years and a country like Pakistan will survive. But still after 70 years, our country is an example of attachment. You might be thinking in your mind that the answer is our Constitution, but I believe Constitution of India only guides us how to live in India with respecting laws.

The reason behind this strong bonding is the name India, the name which unites all diversities  at once. The name which threads us all in oneness. Divided by religions, regions, languages, castes, but when called the citizen of India everything which was uncommon divided us becomes diminish and disappears. Everyone becomes common equal and united. Whenever we have tried to break this unity, results were ruthless. Best example is the time of partition, where people of different communities suffered a lot.

Our country is land of secrets and truth. In our nation where we are told that our life is all about karma. It is our fundamental strength and we have to enhance it more. We all are seekers and the moment we give up, we start thinking why we are here and why we are Indians!!

If there is no spritual process of culture fabrics within us, the moment we try to fragment it, it will die. So, the power is in our hands how adequately we can strengthen our cultural threads…

To be continued…
